Educational system in India
Today the educational system of
India may be divided in lots of stages:
• Pre- Primary: It includes 3 to 5 years age children, studying in
nursery, and lower/ upper kindergarten. At this stage, the student is given the
knowledge on school life as well as taught to read/write some of the basic
words.
• Primary: It consists of children, having age group between 6 to 11
years, studying in the classes from 1st to 5th.
• Middle: It includes children studying in the classes from 6th -8th.
• Secondary: It consists of students studying in the classes of 9th and
10th.
• Higher Secondary: It includes the students studying in the 11th and
12th classes.
• Undergraduate: Here, the student takes the higher education that is
completed in the college. The course can vary depending on subject pursued by
student. For the medical student, the stage has four and a half years duration
plus, one year compulsory internship; where as the simple graduate degree may be
attained in the three years.
• Postgraduate: After completing the graduation, the student can opt for
the post graduation for getting further qualifications.
Education Governing Bodies
• CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education): It is a main governing
body for education system of India. It has command over central education
system. It organizes the exam and looks after schools functioning of accredited
central education system.
• CISCE (Council of Indian School Certificate Examination): It is board
of Anglo Indian Studies in India. It organizes two examinations like 'Indian
Certificate of Secondary Education' as well as the 'Indian School Certificate'.
The Indian Certificate of the secondary education is the K-10 exam for the
Indian students that have merely completed the 10th as well as Indian school
certificate is the K-12 public exam, organized for those students, studying in
the class 12th.
• State Government Boards: Apart from the CBSE as well as CISCE, every
state of India has its personal State Board of the education that looks after
educational issues.
• National Open School: It is identified as the National Institute of the
Open Schooling. It was recognized by Indian Government in the year 1989. It is
the ray of hope to those students that may not attend the formal schools.
• International School: It controls schools that which are accredited for
the curriculum of the international standard.
