Students generally enroll in different kinds of colleges relying on the academic requirement. Usually speaking, for the college to impart the education for students officially, they are needed to be accredited or affiliated by the education regulators in country. Most of colleges communicate education at undergraduate level. The courses provided by all these colleges incorporate the study programs in Commerce, Arts, and Science. On the other hand, only some colleges have introduced the study programs at post-graduate level for Technology, Law, Management, and Education.

Private Colleges in India

70% of colleges in India are run privately. Of 70%, 33% of colleges are positioned in the rural regions of country. Even though they are private, they get the financial aid from the state governments. Names of the few private colleges of India include-

Government Colleges in India

About 15%-20% colleges of India are the government colleges. They are organized by the respective state governments. The government college names of the country include -

• Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, at Kottayam

Self-Financed Colleges

The self-financed colleges are associated colleges, which do not get funds from government/private trusts for operating. They run with help of the tuition fees they produce from the students.

Autonomous Colleges

The autonomous colleges plan their own academic syllabus, conduct their individual admission tests, as well as accept their own teaching methods. The affiliating university generally approves of methods, evaluation, and examination system followed by the colleges.

Accreditations and Affiliations

When the students take admission in the colleges, discovering about the affiliation and accreditation is of maximum importance. It indicates how genuine the college is. There are numerous affiliating bodies in India. Some of them are-
